SmartPDF ("the App") is a free, open-source document scanner and PDF reader developed by HiFive Tech. This policy explains what data the App accesses, how it is used, and your rights as a user.
The App does not collect, transmit, store remotely, or share any personal data. There are no analytics SDKs, advertising SDKs, crash-reporting services, or remote servers involved. Your documents, images, and metadata never leave your device.
All data the App creates stays entirely on your device:
AppDocuments/smart_pdf/files/).AppDocuments/smart_pdf/thumbs/.You can delete all stored data at any time by removing documents within the App or by uninstalling the App.
The App requests only the permissions required for its core features:
Permissions are requested at the time they are needed and can be revoked at any time through your device settings. Revoking a permission disables the corresponding feature but does not affect data already saved.
The App includes a Share function that lets you send PDF files to other apps (e.g. email, messaging, cloud storage) using your operating system's native share sheet. Any sharing is initiated solely by you; the App does not automatically send files anywhere.
The App uses open-source Flutter packages for PDF creation, viewing, image processing, and file sharing. These libraries run entirely on-device and do not transmit data to third parties. A full list of dependencies and their licences is available in the App under Menu → Open Source Licenses and in the source repository.
The App does not collect any personal information from anyone, including children under 13. It is safe to use in any age group.
If this policy is updated, the revised version will be published at this URL with an updated date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
